It’s spacious, light, and elegant, the Prestige M48 gives a new option to recreational boaters who want the stability of a multi-hull with the luxury of a motor yacht. 

While the catamaran has always been hailed for stability, functionality, and roominess, its finishes have generally been utilitarian. The Prestige M48 addresses a unique need in the market for a motor cruiser with catamaran capability and premium yacht comfort.

Accommodation and Design

The Prestige M48 Catamaran is built for motor cruising but has a cat spirit. It is a little narrower and higher than a traditional catamaran, but you get the space of close to a 70’ monohull in a very well-balanced 48’ cat. You get all of the space of a 280-square-meter Mediterranean villa without the cost one usually associates with that much real estate on the water. You receive Prestige quality on two hulls at a lower starting price than the X-series but with a lot of the enhanced design elements found in the Prestige X-series.

Prestige M48 offers a layout that deletes the lines between exterior and interior space. You have a spacious rear cockpit with two tables, the larger teak table makes a great dining space for up to 8 guests with an easily accessible bar. You also have a hydraulic platform back here that you can position in level with the cockpit to create a large terrace for sunbathing and relaxation, or move it down to use as a comfortable beach lounge.

In aft part of the salon, you find your fully-functional galley, and you can serve guests through a window. Moving upwards to the spectacularly spacious flybridge at close to 65 square meters with a sun pad and amenities for relaxed dining hovering above the sea. If you’re at the helm, hard-top protects you from the sun as you liaise with your not-so-hardworking guests.

The high-end design and features brought in by Garroni Design and Italian designer Valentina Militerno De Romedis for the X-series have been utilized in this special powercat. That means furniture and materials play a big part in the overall atmosphere of the M48 experience from top to bottom.

For accommodations, you are spoilt thanks to the double hull space that gives all cabins an open and soothing private space. You have three cabins, the master suite sits in the center with an ensuite, closets, and a relaxation area. In addition to that you have guest suites with twin beds that also have their private ensuites. All rooms have private entryways.

Sea Trials and Handling

You can almost forget that you’re on a catamaran instead of a luxurious yacht, that’s because you’re supposed to! The Prestige M line 48 powercat is a more leisurely yacht without the length but with all of the apace. However, since it is a cat, you’re cruising speed is slow, and lackadaisical with an optimal 15 knots cruising and a 20-knot top.

That will give you a 240 nm range, slow it down to singles and your range can double. Regardless of how slow you’re going, no one faster than you is going to be able to get in close to those private coral reef islands and secluded destinations near Porto Montenegro and beyond – thanks to your M48 catamaran.
