The Layout: Prestige 420
The Prestige 420 Fly provides more usable space than a typical 40 foot yacht. Clever rest and entertainment spaces provide more experiences from forward to aft.
A BBQ entertaining area sits at the stern with an optional high-low sunbathing platform. The full-beam cockpit has a nice L-shaped seating area with an adjustable table.
Just inside, the galley sits port side complete with double burners and oven and plenty of storage and counter space. On the starboard side sits more storage and a fridge and freezer, providing the chef with everything they need while being able to mingle with guests in the cockpit and saloon.
The visual experience in the spacious saloon is stunning thanks to large side windows and glass sliding doors for movement of light and air. The single-seater helm is compact and organized and the foredeck provides plenty of space for sunbathing.
The flybridge provides ample space for a mix of uses under the sun. From a wet bar with a grill, sink, and fridge to a dining table, wraparound seating, and sunbeds, there are many ways to enjoy the fly.
Accommodation and Design
The full-beam owner’s cabin is quite a treat with plenty of room to relax with plenty of storage space. It comes with a dual-access ensuite which allows the guest cabin access. An optional two-head configuration is available. The guest cabin sits in the bow and is almost as large as the owner’s cabin with plenty of storage of its own.
You are greeted by soft soothing natural colors and materials with high-end finishes throughout the Prestige 420. The classic villa style design, colors and materials of Prestige yachts has become signature to the line, providing pure pleasure and relaxation water.
Sea Trials and Handling
The single helm station on the main deck of this 40 foot yacht is compact and well laid out. The boat’s V-shaped hull at an approximate 17 percent deadrise provides a soft ride without compromising balance. For power, you have Twin 6.7- liter Cummins V Drive engines with either 380 hp or 425 hp. The shaft drive engines and a bow thruster make for easier and more affordable maintenance. The cruising speed is 22 knots with a max speed of 30.7 knots. The Prestige 420 handles well even in inclement weather.
